Seriously....do you guys mean you think he tries to "sound" like Maynard when singing? (Which I don't think he does, but...) Because other than that I don't see Billy acting like Maynard at all. Watch interviews with them. He doesn't "act" like Maynard at all. He just acts like, well, Billy.

I'm not trying to keep this going. I'm not even that concerned with it. But I'm really not getting where you guys are coming from.

Don't tell me to go study emotive. Tell me exactly what it is that Billy does that makes you think he acts like Maynard.

Well for one Billy tried to be the frontman on eMotive and IMO eMotive was their worst album. It was a shadow of 13th step and no where close to Mer. But I just feel like Billy tried to take over the band or something. And I know he started it, but w/o MJK APC would not be that great IMO. eMotive was decent but I missed MJK. I felt like he was pushed into the bakground and it just didn't work for me.

Well, for one thing....you cannot compare emotive with Mer or 13th. Emotive was cover songs. Big difference.

Did you watch the Emotive interview? Maynard says in there the political cd is something he wanted to do for a long time. He also goes on to say how nice it was to be able to let Billy shine on that cd. Maynard seems completely happy with it all.

I seriously doubt Maynard does anything that he really doesn't want to do. That would effect his artistic integrity....something I'm pretty sure he would never do. And being "pushed in to the background"? Do you seriously think Maynard would let anyone push him in to the background. I really don't think MJK lets anyone push him anywhere.

Again, listen to the entire emotive interview. Again...Maynard seemed very happy to step back a bit and let Billy do the vocals on a few songs.

That may be but I didn't like it. I was giving an opinion. Maybe you're right, but I wasn't a big fan of eMotive. I know it was mostly covers, but IMO it was a major let down for me. Again, this is just my opinion so please don't crucify after reading this.

I wasn't directing that comment to you. It was for everybody. MJK discussion is touchy sometimes and I didn't want to offend anyone by saying eMotive dissappointed me.

You're not offending anyone by giving your opinion. (At least not me and I hope not others here) As long as it is stated in a mature and intelligent manner and not simply bashing and being an ass, I want you all to feel comfortable about voicing your opinions.

We love MJK, but I don't care what anyone says.....he is not god. As much as we respect and admire him and his art....not everyone is going to be absolutely thrilled with everything he does.




Although since you are dissapointed in Emotive.....you really do have to leave this board immediately. ;D
