It wasn't about someone denouncing their faith. It was about his mother's undying faith. The resentment is toward the "friends" of his mother who would visit her and praise her for her faith and then talk about her behind her back. The resentment is (was?) also toward the people who took "light and love out of the equation" and made God in to the God we should fear and one that judges. Funny, my interpretation was always a lot like VOG's, that it was about someone embittered about something that had gone really tragically wrong in their lives and blaming God. Your interpretation has really made me think Halo. I think I get it better now. |

I think VOG was saying that's what HE thought it was about. yes yes. i use to think that but wonderful MJK's awe inspiring voice and colorful commentary has made me change my ways! haha a little melodramatic?? lol ;D |

I'm really easy going, don't really dig conflict and drama too much. I'm a Libra, so that might have a little something to do with it too. It's also the first line to one of my fave songs by Bush called "Inflatable". |

I can't say it word for word but I remember what he said about the song. In the beginning he said "I consider myself a handicapped person and that I used to believe that evreyones intentions in the world was to do better, to learn more. To seek out truth & the older I get the more I realize that that's not the case with most people. They're pretty content with the way things are and just live day by day. The song is about the people that reconize that other people reconize there is a problem & situation. And thier kinda like the clinggers on like barnicals in a way, parasites. They realize that there is a energy on some level and they choose to feed on it rather to add to it or grow from it. And it just happens that I knew sevrel ppl in my life who all fit that description. They didnt understand on a deeper level with what me & some of my friends really had to offer. Kinda parasitic in a way. And it just so happens that there was 8 or 9 people and they all happen to have a birthday right around the same time. So I called it 3 Libra's. I thought *Maynards laughs* I'd call it that and have all 9 of em fight it out to figure out who the 3 was cause actully it's about 9. So that's my little vendictive staback". Then he talks about the video.
So it's bassiclly about bein overlooked by someone. Some people say it's about 1 single person and others agree with Maynard. I kinda think it's about one person.
Showing is how I said almost evreything Maynard said in the commetary you people probably think I'm obsessed. I'm NOT just really bored so I watch aMOTION alot ;D

Your quote of the commentary was very well done Soul. However with your opinion about the song being about being overlooked by someone, I don't think is the case. I think it's more about people, as he stated, that wanted to feed off of the friendship rather than contribute to it. They enjoyed the "energy" but didn't want to become involved on a "deeper level", they just wanted the cool, I'm friends with MJK and these guys kind of thing. They didn't look in to "who" MJK and his friends were as people, rather they wanted the celebrity friendship. Or maybe not. That's just my take on it. |
