I put myself down because I need a reason to disagree with myself. Maybe my pessimistic attitude toward myself is relevant and fact. But I can die to disprove of what I say, Look at my flaws, correct those flaws. Get myself cleaned up. Walk to your house, Knock on your door and punch you in the mouth for trying to stop me from saying bad things about myself. I am a Pessimist. Let me be, Let me learn to be optimistic.. And if I ever get there on my own without your hollow sorrow and your "I hope he's okay" & your little " " face then I'll learn to love myself again. You cant teach someone to love themselves. They have to find the love for themselves to truely appreciate thier human existence.

VOG- you are getting deep. Any cause for this sudden inner depth way of thinking? - Jen ps- it is quite interesting:) Actually yes. I have begin reading a lot more and I am currently going through several Japense philosophy books. I made a new year's resolution list three pages long and this year is about improving myself physically, mentally, emotional, spirtually, and intelluctially. I'm sorry if it's TOO deep, I am just trying to hit people with the biggest possible impact. Some things I've learned could help alot of people.

Kev- When one can learn to love themselves- they can learn to love others even more.. one can not love others if one does not love themself. I have heard of that philosophy before:) I have learned in my life that people need to see the light in themselves and see that they, themselves are worthy and are beautiful..one can not show somebody this- but can guide them.. it always starts with self:) VOG- Interesting:) One thing - you dont have to worry about getting too deep with me..you are talking to somebody that loves philosophy.. Out of curiousity what books are you reading? When you talk of Eastern Philosophy are you referring to the study of things like the Tao.. or Buddhism? just curious.. What a wonderful resolution! Love- Jen

Love- Jen Currently I am reading "A Book Of Five Rings And The Unfettered Mind". It is a combination of Buddhism and Hinduism (sp?) and a lot of other philosphy. Basically this person took the best aspects of all beliefs and combined them into what he calls "The Way Of Strategy".

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
-John Stuart Mill

very interesting.... but I guess if somebody says war is an UGLY thing, he or she does not mean the inner wars we have to fight with ourselves for so many times
