Ok... many ppl here r APC fans... so as not to offend any1 - APC is great... but is it all that much better than Tool...? I mean if u listen to the first few Tool albums u can clearly hear the similarities between these 2 great bands... so... if any1 has any comments plz post

Oh, I never meant to come across that I felt APC was better than Tool. To me they are just two separate bands. Neither better than the other.
It's just a matter of preference. And actually that preference changes with moods and where my life is at, at the time. Some of APC songs came about at a very hard time in my life. They helped me and they mean a lot to me.
But Tool's music means much to me also.
There is no, in my opinion, saying one is better than the other. Simply, which one helped me the most recently.
Although I do feel APC's music is more melodic and soothing, Tool's music can soothe also. There is just some APC songs where Maynard's voice is so unbelievably beautiful. I do believe he uses his voice in a different way with APC and I like that. Very much.

true true... i agree with u bout the development of mjk's vocals... my guess is that there is soemthign really special in store for the listeners in Tool's new album... read it on toolshed... something bout one of the songs on the new album (which apparently is coming out l8r this yr  ... finally) ... danny metioned in one of his more recent interviews that there is soemthing outa this world with mjk's vocals... but true... its all a matter if preference... also i think that a lot of APC's songs are more how to say this... sentimental compared to Tool's |

I agree with halo alot about how both bands are equal and its all a matter of preferece. APC has helped me alot, like most people say it is soothing to here, but to me I like to here more of the angary maynard from Tool. I like both bands equal still of course but i dont think apc is that much better then Tool, i just think more people enjoy soothing music then the twisted yelling kind.

i could go on forever and list the similarities/differences....but in my humble opinion....after seeing APC first in concert and hearing APC first....i have to say that i say TOOL demolishes APC...haha maybe not demolish but u know...TOOL rocks my world...APC...I love you too but if i had to vote...if Tool or APC was running for..uhh...whatever..i would have to vote for TOOL

Personally I prefer "guffaws" to "sniggers". They are so much more fun. Especially when you start guffawing and then you start snorting. ;D
