I am new here and I cruised thru the posts on this site (didn't want to converse over tired trod material) has anyone heard the extended version of Orestes with the [amazing] introduction??? I've searched all over the net looking for those additional lyrics but have had no success...so here's to another attempt.

Wow, that was nice of you to come and ask for a favor while at the same time calling our board "tired trod material". Although, the nice person that I am, willl forgive that and see if we can help you. I'm not sure what Orestes version you are looking for. I've never heard of an extended version of Orestes except for live recordings of it. What "amazing introduction" are you talking about? There is an extended intro version of Sleeping Beauty on the 12" Mer de Noms vinyl. I'm pretty sure I listed all ofl APC's recordings at www.maynardjameskeenan.us and I hadn't found any such version you are talking about. If it does exists, I think it's probably a bootleg from a show. Anyone here heard of this?

At least they put the post in the right spot
There are only two "official , recorded" versions of Mer De Noms material. Sleeping Beauty and Over. Are they both on the LP Halo?
Live versions are a another story.

Did not mean to be mistaken whence I said "tired trod material"...for it was meant to be interpreted i.e. "I don't want to ask questions that have already been submitted and answered in due time".
Alas, worry not. I figured noone had heard this version on a pressed release. I too am aware of official recorded material and there is none such. I was fortunate enough to be present at a live show in Nashville at the Municipal Auditorium, where it was played it all splendor by the man himself.

I've heard of this, but it was from live shows. But at the time I heard of it the person was just asking for lyrics not a recording. I'd like to hear it one day though.
