Los Angeles, CA - February 21, 2007 - Tool will be rescheduling their upcoming North American tour due to an injury in the band. Over the weekend, drummer Danny Carey tore a bicep. Danny underwent surgery TODAY and is recovering well. Rescheduled tour dates will be announced shortly.
(Note: Danny just got out of surgery and it went well)

I just spoke with Danny as he was being driven home from the hospital. The surgery went well and he is in good spirits. The members of the band and their management had asked me (instructed might be a better word) not to post anything about this UNTIL after the surgery so that they might be better able to assess the situation. Makes sense, doesn't it. I'm sure there will be meetings between the band members and their manager (as well as talks with Danny's doctor), and I will post any information when they pass it on to me. Again, Danny is upbeat, and anxious to get back to pounding those drums as soon as he is physically able to do so. And if I know him, that will be soon!

Man, poor guy! Must have been scary to injure his livelihood like that. I hope he has those guns insured!!
Hate to be selfish (I of course wish him a speedy and full recovery) but that totally blows that the two shows I was gunna see will now be cancelled... god i'm awful for even thinking that...

Hate to be selfish (I of course wish him a speedy and full recovery) but that totally blows that the two shows I was gunna see will now be cancelled... god i'm awful for even thinking that... Its okay to be human, I feel disappointment as well. As far as shows being "cancelled", I heard they were all being "re-scheduled" which means (unless I'm mistaken) that the tickets will be good, just at a later date. His health is more important though, so, GET WELL SOON DANNY. |
