It's great, isn't money?? The drums are fucking awsome. I haven't checked on a couple of songs who it is, Grohl or Dillon.....but the drums absolutely rock on a few songs! If I'm not mistaken, I believe Dillon only played on "With Teeth" and "Home" (which unfortunately the U.S. didn't get ) Grohl played on all the other ones. By the way, I also love the drums on this album. So much difference between live drums and progammed drums. Awesome album.

Nine Inch Nails rocker says longtime manager made him sign bad contract
By LARRY NEUMEISTER Associated Press Writer
May 16, 2005, 6:42 PM EDTNEW YORK -- Alternative-rocker Trent Reznor testified Monday against his longtime manager, saying he was stunned to learn in 2003 that despite millions of dollars in earnings by his band, Nine Inch Nails, he was left with as little as $400,000 in cash.
"I felt I had an accountant I couldn't trust," he said as he testified against John Malm in a civil trial in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. The trial resulted after Reznor sued Malm, contending that his former close friend duped him into signing a contract that gave Malm 20 percent of his gross earnings rather than net earnings and lets Malm collect the commission forever.
A lawyer for Malm, Alan Hirth, said in an opening statement that his client worked many years for no salary and kept nothing secret from Reznor.
"Of the millions upon millions upon millions that Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails made, the vast majority went into his (Reznor's) pocket," Hirth said.
Reznor testified he trusted Malm more than anyone else in his life when he agreed to let him handle his finances in the 1980s as the band signed its first record contract and encountered success.
"We wanted to change the world," Reznor told jurors. "John was the business guy, and I was the guy working for nothing in the studio."
He said the pair had a very strong friendship and relationship at the time.
Reznor said the pair created their own production company and managed sales of merchandise but the expenses piled up, draining large portions of the millions of dollars the band earned with its music releases and concert tours. He admitted he ignored his finances and sometimes signed documents without reading or understanding them.
Reznor said he signed a document in 1993 giving Malm half the rights to the trademark protected name Nine Inch Nails. Reznor said he came up with the name when he started the group.
Reznor said he began to grow worried about finances when he was told during a meeting with Malm and a lawyer in 2002 that there was "cause for alarm."
The following year, he said, he asked Malm to tell him how much money he had. He said he was sent a financial statement that revealed he had at most $3 million in total assets and as little as $400,000 in cash.
"It was not pleasant discovering you have a 10th as much as you've been told you have," he said.
Reznor testified that he began understanding his finances after overcoming alcohol problems several years ago.
Nine Inch Nails' latest single, "The Hand That Feeds," was listed No. 2 on Monday on Billboard's Top 20 list of modern rock tracks.I hate to say this (and of course I don't know the whole story) but I'm thinking it doesn't look good for Trent winning this. Malm may be a sleaze bucket, and I don't know this for sure....but yea, if he took advantage of a friendship, he definitely is. BUT....damn I don't care how much you trust someone, wouldn't you still at least read what you're signing? And giving away half the rights to the NIN trademark? Why would you do this? I feel bad for Trent, especially since he trusted Malm and thought he was a friend, but I also think he should have paid a little more attention to what was going on with his own money and business. I know that's what accountants and lawyers are for, but I would think you would still keep an eye on things occasionally. Whatever happens, I just hope it doesn't drag out forever. Get it over with so Trent can just move on. (And hopefully be a little smarter with his affairs from now on.)

The Associated Press is reporting that NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor told a jury on Tuesday (May 17) that firing his longtime manager after the finances of his band deteriorated was "like a divorce."
Testifying on his 40th birthday in a civil case he brought against John Malm, the singer said he was left with little choice when he realized that the finances he had ignored for 15 years were in disarray.
"The last place I wanted to end up was sitting here right now," Reznor said from the witness stand in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. "This is like a divorce."
Under questioning by Malm's lawyer, Alan Hirth, Reznor admitted that he wrote a letter in the 1990s in which he said Malm would be his manager "until he chooses not to do so."
Reznor testified Monday that he had as little as $400,000 in cash in 2003 after hundreds of thousands a dollars annually were lost on unnecessary expenses.
Reznor also contends that Malm duped him into signing a contract that allowed the former manager to collect 20 percent of the singer's gross earnings rather than net earnings. He's seeking unspecified damages.
Hirth elicited through his questioning of Reznor that the singer was actively involved in many of the band's business dealings but sometimes chose not to read contracts and financial information before signing documents.
NINE INCH NAILS' latest single, "The Hand That Feeds", is No. 2 on Billboard's Top 20 list of modern rock tracks.

Anyone notice that if you read the track listings for With Teeth in order, it's almost like a few sentences that you could say to someone......
All the love in the world, you know what you are? The collector; the hand that feeds. Love is not enough. Everyday is exactly the same. With teeth only getting smaller sunspots. the line begins to blur beside you in time, right where it belongs.
I dunno maybe it's just me. But the first time I read through I was like wow that's cool. What do you think??

I think I remember Trent saying that this was not a concept album, but just songs.
I don't believe that. Every song has a thread that connects each other. For me, at least.

Every song has a thread that connects each other Yes I would have to agree. There does kind seem to be a depressing theme (suprise suprise! lol) that ties everything together.

I don't see this album as having a depressing theme. I see it as more of a learning from the past theme. Looking back and seeing what was, realizing what was and expressing that from newly opened eyes. If that makes any sense!
