Video footage from AUDIOSLAVE's performance in Havana, Cuba earlier in the month has been posted online at Yahoo! Music = music.yahoo.com/ar-296097-videos--Audioslave Among the tracks available for viewing are "Be Yourself", "Your Time Has Come", "Cochise", "Set It Off", and "Like A Stone". The first American rock group to perform in Cuba in 26 years, AUDIOSLAVE's concert in Havana was an honor guitarist Tom Morello's former band, politicos RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, always discussed, but never experienced as reality. "There were many roadblocks to keep RAGE from playing Cuba, and some of them were generated by government bureaucracy, and some were generated by internal band conflict," Morello told the Associated Press. "Having 70,000 people singing along to us on a Havana night was amazing," he said. "I saw people throwing messages onto the stage. I saw them mouth the same words time and time again: 'Thank you.'"

Audioslave Rage To First Billboard #1 Rock supergroup takes chart's top slot with 263,000-strong first week. For the first time in more than 10 years, Chris Cornell can lay claim to the country's best-selling record. Out of Exile, the second studio offering from the Cornell-fronted Audioslave, will debut atop Billboard's Album chart with first-week sales of more than 263,000, scoring the band — which also features the instrument-playing components of the late Rage Against the Machine — its first #1, according to the latest SoundScan figures.
Audioslave's newest opus continues a recent retail trend of rock domination. Out of Exile becomes the sixth straight rock record to debut as Billboard's king of scans. The previous week, the Dave Matthews Band conceded the sales throne to metal act System of a Down's Mezmerize. With close to 170,000 scans (and a second-week sales decline of 63 percent), the last champ falls three spots to #4 on this most recent sales chart. The week before that, Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails passed the proverbial torch to Stand Up, DMB's newest LP, which will show up at #7 with sales of just over 100,000 this time around.
Three weeks ago, it was the Nails' With Teeth — now finishing out its fourth week at retail with scans of 41,000 and then some, to take the chart's #26 position — giving Bruce Springsteen's Devils & Dust the bump. The latest release from the Boss checks in at #39 on the most recent chart, with a fifth-week sales showing of close to 26,500. But rock's retail run all started back in mid-April with Something to Be, the solo debut from Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas — which continues to garner strong retail interest, with week-six sales of 46,000 and change, earning Thomas the chart's #23 rank.
Who says rock and roll is dead?
But for Audioslave, Out of Exile is a triumph on so many different levels. The album not only outperformed the band's debut — which opened at Billboard's #7, with first-week sales of just over 162,000 back in 2002 — it marks the first time since the 1994 release of Superunknown, the hit record from Cornell's former group Soundgarden, that the celebrated grunge vocalist finds himself on top. And for the rest of his band, Out of Exile becomes the third #1 debut of their musical careers: Rage Against the Machine's Evil Empire finished first with sales of close to 250,000 in 1996, while 1999's Battle of Los Angeles netted first-week sales of over 430,000, to take that week's #1.

According to MTV.com, AUDIOSLAVE will be launching their first headlining arena tour beginning in late September.
"We've done smaller tours at the beginning of records, we've done Lollapalooza, but this is our first real official AUDIOSLAVE tour," guitarist Tom Morello told MTV.com.
The trek kicks off September 25 in San Francisco and wraps up November 18 in Long Beach, California. Electronic-happy British rockers KASABIAN and South African metal band SEETHER are opening.
"We're very involved in picking the bands," Morello said. "KASABIAN is great. I know less about SEETHER, but I hear they rock."
AUDIOSLAVE's set will mix songs from both their albums, as well as new material and tunes from their past bands.
"We were playing some RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and SOUNDGARDEN songs in the past, but we'll probably be playing a wider variety of those this time out," Morello said. "Between RAGE, SOUNDGARDEN and TEMPLE OF THE DOG, there's 11 or 12 records of our own that we could draw from, so it's pretty exciting."
The band is donating a portion of the proceeds to various nonprofit organizations, including Morello and SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian's Axis of Justice.

AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello has told MTV.com that the band have already written several new tunes for the follow-up to this year's "Out of Exile", some of which AUDIOSLAVE will debut on the road this fall.
"What we're hoping to do is follow in the footsteps of some of our favorite bands, like THE BEATLES, and make more music and not have it be two or three years between albums," Morello explained to MTV.com. "We want to make a lot of music. We enjoy writing music, recording it, putting it out and touring. We're going to try and make that cycle shorter so there's a lot more AUDIOSLAVE music."
AUDIOSLAVE shot a video for the third single off "Out of Exile", "Doesn't Remind Me", last month in Los Angeles with director Chris Milk, who has previously worked with KANYE WEST and MODEST MOUSE.
"I had the idea [for the lyrics to] 'Doesn't Remind Me' the day before [the band played me the music in the studio], and it seemed like the perfect song to try out that idea," singer Chris Cornell told MTV.com. "One of the things that's very exciting to me is you have four accomplished musicians completely willing to play a three-chord song if it's a great song. That's important to me and speaks well of the band I'm in."
"When we wrote 'Out of Exile', we had a great deal of confidence in each other in the creative process, and we felt confident bringing any idea in," Morello added. "We just make music to please ourselves, and we're really happy to make a record as diverse as our various influences."
