One of my cats is sick and we can't figure out what's wrong with him. He's been low on energy, throwing up, and for some reason he can't "meow." He'll open his mouth as if he's going to, but the only sound that comes out is sort of like a small hacking sound. If any of you has any idea what this could be please let me know.

You should make an appointment with the vet as soon as possible. I hope it's nothing serious!

I just got back from the vet after having to put one of our cats, Cricket, to sleep. She had a lump in her throat and hasn't been breathing well for months, but this morning she could barely walk. I figured it was the best thing to do. Rest in peace, Cricket. I'll miss you.

I'm so sorry. (HUGS HUGS! LOTS OF HUGS!) How old was she? As for my cat he's doing alot better. He can meow now, but it's still a little horse. I guess he just caught a bad cold.

Thanks for the hugs and for your sympathy. She was only 10 and a half years old. We have another cat who is almost 18!
I'm glad that your cat is doing better.

I don't know what's wrong with me. Cricket wasn't even my favorite cat, and I'm grieving more for her than I did for my grandmother a couple of years ago! My new contact lenses are blurry already because I can't stop crying. I don't get it.

Pet deaths are odd like that. Maybe it's because you're so use to living with them that once they're gone it's a shock to the system.

Well, he was better... Then he suddenly developed some kind of liver problem and we had to have him put down the other day.

I'm so sorry to hear that as well, it's so terrible to lose a pet. We had to put our 8 yr old boxer "Roxie" to sleep in November (cancer) and it still hurts to think about it.

^OMG! I am just now reading ALL of these messages, I cant believe that Im just now coming across them. My heart goes out to all of you that have lost a pet, I am so sorry. I have a pet too. I think animals are precious. They really do love us unconditionally. My thoughts are with you guys, and I know that they still come around you all in some form or another. We never truly die- nothing does- just changes form ..be looking for them in your dreams.. they are around you all more than you are aware......and they still love you just as much as you do them! sweet dreams everybody:)- Jen
