I've been digging (in places I shouldn't be) for about 6-9 months trying to find out more information on the organization that owns the nursing home I work at. I've known something was up for a long time. I found info that lead me to believe they were trying to sell us. And most probably to the local college that has wanted this land for a parking lot for some time now. I did more digging and finally found the financials I was looking for. The Catholic organization that owns us, owns about 70 other nursing homes/medical facilities. All were listed in the financials, with everything there.....except for my facility. We were listed, but with no financial information. Just a big blank through all columns. Except an asterick. The bottom of the page had this: *Discontinued Operation I've been right all along, they are done with us. The only thing I don't know is if we are just closing or another organization bought us. If we close, 110 Residents with no home. 120 employees with no jobs. I want to cry.  |

Wow Halo, that's a crazy employee to patient ratio. I guess that's cause you have to have so many shifts? I really hope you don't lose your job. Better start looking just in case?  |

The employee count is not just nurses and aides. It includes dietary, housekeeping, activities, maintenance and office workers (directors, management, etc.). I can't look now for another job. I'd have to stay to the end. If we close, we have 90 days to find the Residents placement in other homes. I would stay through that. I would want to help make sure they all get good homes (which is going to be extremely difficult) and be there to the end with them. |

For those of you who didn't read my Ok now I'm pissed thread, my car window was smashed out last night. How gay is that? I use to smash mailboxes in highschool, but we never damaged peoples cars. That is crossing the line I think. What a great Saturday. And I had such a great night last night. Must be what I get. Anytime I'm happy I get fucked. Oh well........

Verizon fried my phone!!! All I was having problems with was saving pictures. Customer service said all it needed was a software update and to take it to a Verizon store and they would do this for me. They killed my phone. And lost everything in it....contacts, pics.....everything. No apologies either. The guy just looked at me and said, "your phone is now a paper weight". |
