If APC gives you an apology, it would mean they admit that they've done something wrong. So I guess you won't get any...I'm sure they are convinced about what they are doing.
I’m not going to hold my breath, but I’m pretty convinced in what I’m doing also.
Thanks, I'll try and keep it interesting.
While I agree that there are more bands out there that are more interested in their fans views, what do you mean by "cultivating oneself"?
A reference to what you had been saying.
"He is self-deprecating, yet he revels in (and cultivates) his own "self". " It was just a slight tie-in to that comment, my base meaning was that the band doesn’t care much for the fans.
I guess it’s easy to aim my comments at Maynard in general since he’s the most recognizable of the bunch.
A little bit of both, I guess.
Nope. I have deeper concerns with them, though I’m sure it’s written somewhere(not untruthfully) that I started this over the logo. I can bring my arguments about their politics and why I don’t believe them to be anything more than a gimmick, but I hate to do that. It’s very boring.
I prefer to focus on the logo because it represents a bit to me, it was the original spark that got me thinking about APC. Maybe I feel if I base my arguments around the logo, then I’ll make up for its lack of symbolism. I like symbolism a lot, and like to base a lot of power upon single images.
From what I gather, there’s no real devotion to the name or logo. If you care to give me a link to make me more aware of some things such as the christening of their band I’ll be sure to check into it. I can’t promise I won’t use it in against APC though.
I’m often told my methods and motives are a bit queer. I’d really like to give this statement of yours a good response, but I’m blanking.
Would “I’m doing this for an apology I won’t get” suffice?
As am I, I just feel I’ve dropped the ball tonight. I don’t think my responses were really up to my standards this morning... Ah, oh well, I’ll still make my appearances and I’ll maybe think of better ways to word things that I’m saying. I’ve still got other posts to respond to yet.
It is meant to be ironic.
I really strongly believe that while they maybe somewhat 'snobbish' about fans they aren't laughing at us.
Sorry. I strongly disagree with that.
Interesting to talk to you.
It’s perfectly fine for you to disagree with me so long as I get to disagree with you. It’s just peachy, a total agreement from you wouldn’t help me think about my next idea.
As for the logo meaning to be ironic, it’s still not meaningful. Irony means nothing if used in such a little cause. It’s killing irony if anything. The whole “Let’s name ourselves one thing very specific in which no sort of idea of what it couldn’t be is set, then logo-erize ourselves with something that ill-so depicts the title of our band.”
Irony is witty, and quaint. There’s no wit involved in a conflicting logo.
I don’t believe the irony theory, it just doesn’t fit right.
I’d like to give them more credit than “they did it for witless irony.”
Personally, I don't think the logo is supposed to be controversial or ironic. I think "a perfect circle" is a vagina. Makes a lotta sense to me.
That’s a bit understandable, but a vagina’s not a perfect circle either. Not by a long shot. I could see the logo being that, but it still has just as much a confliction with the band’s name as the generic curves... maybe a little less, but not much. I don’t exactly think a vagina’s what they were aiming for, but I may be wrong. If a vagina’s what they were aiming for I believe it would have been a little more defined.
This vagina theory doesn’t fit right either.
I find it much easier to believe my theory of them being wankers. It’s not hard at all to think they did it to be assholes.
As I said last time, I’d be back around 11pm(est) the next day. Ha, it’s been a full day(maybe two? I can’t keep track of time) and several hours since then. I’m never on time with anything, so I guess you don’t need to expect me tomorrow at 11pm.
I’ll be back, and I’ll think about what’s been said this time.
Farewell people.
