A PERFECT CIRCLE's sophomore album, "Thirteenth Step", was certified platinum on March 24, 2006 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of one million copies.
Released in September 2003, "Thirteenth Step" was described by MP3.com as "a moodier, tenser, and more atmospheric (if that is possible) recording" than A PERFECT CIRCLE's 2001 debut, "Mer de Noms".
In a recent interview with France's Rock Hard magazine, APC frontman Maynard James Keenan — who is about to release a new album with his main band, TOOL — revealed that A PERFECT CIRCLE has likely reached the end of the road as a touring and recording entity. Asked what the future holds for A PERFECT CIRCLE, Maynard said, "I think it's over," before adding, "We pushed this project as far as it could go, and I see ourselves playing again together only in a few years to make one or two songs, nothing more."

We kind of knew this day was coming though, didn't we, guys? I mean, if you read the caduceus.org journal, Maynard sounds like he resents having to go on tour because he's going to miss "bud break" and other winemaking activities. This could very well be TOOL's last album, too. That would really suck.

By reading the current (June) issue of Guitar World.......TOOL's end does'nt seem to be very likely any time soon............ www.guitarworld.com/

Well to be honest, considering that I personally feel that Emotive was APC's worst album, I don't think it would be a huge loss if they were done. The album was still good, but lacked the old vibe. I for one wouldn't mind if APC stayed over and done & MJK just kept working with Tool instead. But if both bands are done, I will probably slice my wrist open and bleed forever in my own private hell. I guess when it comes down to it, where ever MJK makes music, I will be there.
