Hey now Halo..
I happen to be a very big fan of the Beasties.. and saw them in New Orleans at the Voodoo Fest. I have to give them respect.. I believe they are one of the most innovative bands in hip hop.. they brought it to another level..musically, and they broke down a lot of doors and barriers for other people..I can see a lot of influences from the Beasties in a lot of different bands.... Its okay that you dont like them.. everybody has their own tastes.. but I think they are one of the most innovative bands that have come around in a long while...and they are like 40 years old..lol..still love em though....gotta give them props:)

Once again....not saying I don't respect them.
And I certainly do not disrespect anyone's opinions on the band.
I just personally don't care for their music. Whether they may or may not be innovative and have influenced other music, I'm not sure. I'm not argueing any opinions here on these guys......I simply am not in to their music.
And what's with this age thing everyone is throwing around? You all do realize there are plenty of people in music over 30, don't you?
Two of the greatest: Maynard is 41, Trent will be 40 this month.

Too true H! In saying that, most of their albums were out when half their fans were in pre-school or just an itch in their fqathers groin. No offense to anyone, the music that is coming out nowadays is because of or is the 'older generation' bands and they are in line if not better than the new market music and have influenced most of the nu-metal rock that is out there today. Metallica, over 22 years they've been together, Megadeath 20 years, and there's loads more.... so age shouldn't account for anything when you are listening to their art. Just look into the history of a band before judging age. This should've been in the bitch thread...sorry H.....lol!

This should've been in the bitch thread...sorry H.....lol! Nope...it's fine just where it is. Although it is a big bitch for me when I see people posting about age. I can't tell you how many times I have read (since T-Rezz is back on the scene) comments about his age. For example one post was bitching about how he "acts", how he dresses, etc., etc., with the post ending in: "What is he, like 50 now?" What difference would that make even if he were 50? Some recent pics of MJK were posted at TA that got comments such as "Wow, he's gotten old" As long as they are out there rocking and feeling great....fuck age. It means nothing. You can be 20 and feel like your fucking 80. You can be 80 and feel 20. It's all in your mind.

I should have cleared up something.. I really dont care what age they are either.. I only commented because somebody said they were like 50 years ..age doesnt matter to me either.
and to comment on something else really quick ..the Beasties sampled a lot of older music.. even Led Zepplin..along with the Dust Brothers and tons of other people....and lots of other legends..which brought them to a new age market at the time.. those who did not know of them.. now became exposed to their music.. they crossed a lot of genres with their music....I agree with you both.. age means nothing:) Have a nice night! ..Sparrow:)

they are dumb but they are funny " I just love their Body Moving Video....the scene where he's fighting in these pink bunny-slippers is just hillarious! They have some black humor.

VOG! I heard of Damien Rice.. awhile back- I heard that song and thought wow!.. he is an interesting talent:)If it is the same song that I am thinking of.. the woman that sings in the back ground of that song sounds a lot like Fiona Apple to me. I know it isnt her ( btw her new album comes out this week:- Extraordinary Machine:)... do you know who sings background vocals in that song? just wondering..thanks:)
