Without Protection
I won’t pray I don’t wanna be part of your routine that encourages mind control Support a high rise for the death toll Today those numbers will be a part of us all
Add one more number to the death count Add one more number to the death toll She’s not real She imaginary She is an anonymous existent
It will never be like I dream The peaceful silence destroyed by screams unconsciously Required unawareness stifles the perplexity of equality Asphyxiate her sense of compassion
Add one more number to the death count Add one more number to the death toll She’s not real She imaginary She is an anonymous existent
Now she lies unclothed Exposed Now she lies unclothed Exposed Without protection Without protein
Save me Give me your newfound morality Openly covering the death wish Save us and justify her death

There are some good lines in this piece, but I don't "get it," really. Is it about wars destroying Mother Earth? I'm so confused - could you please explain it to me?

Is it about wars destroying Mother Earth? That's pretty much what I took from it also. Except not just the wars destroying the earth, but everything else we, as people of this earth, are doing to her.

To me it made me think of humans raping Mother Earth. But not in a sexual way. More or less, taking without giving. Pollution, litering, nuclear bomb test, so on and so forth, all contribute to the great end of humanity. As for adding another number to the count I felt like that was saying, with everything we do to kill one another, mother earth is another person we have killed so we should addt her to the list. I liked this. Especially the "It will never be like I dream." And speaking like mother nature isn't necissarily a real person, but she's there non the less.
