This topic brought to mind Monty Python.
Oh, and maybe some of you might be interested in something called "the dreaming" or "dreamtime." It's an aboriginal concept. Very interesting.
another thought to consider: meaning is often hidden, often applied after the fact, and often changes/evolves. What did your last relationship mean to you? What did it mean to you while you were in it? What does it mean to you now? What will it mean for you in 10 years? Life and Death are constants, working together and pushing us every conscious/unconscious moment. It's wonderful to research the ideas of various cultures and religions on the subject, but don't analyze life to the point of missing out on it. (that's probably more of a statement for myself)

meaning is often hidden, often applied after the fact, and often changes/evolves. This makes so much sense. The "meaning" of life certainly could be an ever changing one. The world around us changes constantly, our way of life and living changes, technology forges ahead and new discoveries constantly being brought forth. When I think of how life was just 50 years ago and how much of our world and peoples lives have changed in that relatively short amount of time, I can easily see how the meaning of our lives have to change with it. Although there are some constants in life, yes it ever changing and evolving. But is it just semantics when we differentiate the meaning of our lives and the meaning of life being one and the same or is it really two completely different things? Okay, my head is swimming now because I am over thinking this. But it's fun to discuss even if I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

Ok I actually figured this one out. (and i'm being totally serious for once) I think the meaning of life is to remembered. Not necessarily in a hall of fame or have your own statue or something, but just that when you die, you will have lived so that people say "I really miss him/her." Doing something so wonderful, no matter how minor you may think it is, that brigthens somebodys day enough so they actually will miss you and think about you with happy thoughts after you're gone. So, when you come into this world you are crying and everyone around you is smiling......live it so that when you go, you're smiling and everyone around you is crying.
For Halo. I hope I made you remember me.

LOL I dont' know if that's a good idea Aaawww, everyone can use a hug! Actually it's not a real good idea, in theory yes, in reality, no. I'm a real "touchy" person and I have learned some people do not like being touched. I have to watch myself.

what we experiance as an ego is an illusion of the highest sense
All values are baseless and nothing can be known or comunicated. Every belief is neccesarily false, there is no "true world" "why" finds no answer Morales and Values do not exist and everything will be reduced to nothing except a will to destroy. Even love is nothing but a will to destroy.
To love is to hate, to live is to die.
"Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more; it is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing."
"the only solution is the cosmic conclusion"
The meaning of life is to lose ego conciousness.
Maybe its not the meaning but a comforting thought that will probably never happen.

In my opinion the meaning of life would be to die knowing you accomplished something. Everyone has goals in life, it can be getting a certain job, obtaining love, or anything else you can imagine. I think I could die happy knowing that what I wanted in life I had gotten and before any of us die I think we get that chance. Its all a matter of taking it or watching it go.

I think I could die happy knowing that what I wanted in life I had gotten But don't you think that it's not just getting what we want out of life, but also giving back and contributing?

But don't you think that it's not just getting what we want out of life, but also giving back and contributing? ...depends on if we think that giving back and contributing is something we want! Because: The meaning of life is subjective, as a result the answer to it is also subjective...everyone has to decide on his own if it was ok. If somebody's absolutely egoistic and think it's ok, he/she will never feel like he/she has to contribute or give back anything.
